Gas and food are available in Jacobson or south on State Highway 65 to McGregor for full services. Gas, food and lodging are also available in the Big Sandy Lake and Lake Minnewawa area north of McGregor. Camping is available at the Hay Lake State Forest Campground or near Jacobson at the Jacobson Campground. Several lakes with boat access in this section have opportunities for fishing and wildlife viewing. County Roads 65 and 36 are gravel roads with suitable habitat for many species of birds.
