The town of Aitkin has food, gas and lodging. Aitkin is the county seat with many businesses for a variety of shopping needs. The Aitkin County Historical Society has a local history museum and visit the Jaques Art Center’s art exhibits include those of Francis Lee Jaques and Florence Page Jaques. The Center also features a variety of workshops, lectures and exhibits. The Aitkin Campground, within walking distance to downtown, has seven campsites on the Mississippi River.
