The small town of Malmo on the northeast shore of Mille Lacs Lake is the closest destination for food or gas from the Jewett site. There are many locations for food and lodging and other services along the shores of Mille Lacs Lake. County Road 2 from Malmo to State Highway 65 passes by bogs, farmlands and in fall, colorful maple forests.
